Mobility of students can be of short term (credit-seeking mobility – leading to the academic recognition by the home institution of the study period spent at the host institution) or for a complete course of an academic program (degree-seeking mobility – leading to the award of a degree by the host institution after the successful completion of their studies).

Recognition of studies

The MoU, containing learning agreement/research plans describing the programme of study abroad and a credit transfer system or other equivalent mechanisms, will be established & signed among the partners in order to recognise different types of mobility including credit-seeking, degree-seeking mobility flows and research/teaching period. The consortium will develop a grade conversion tool for situations where there are differences in academic grading systems among partners (e.g. from research only programmes and course and research-based programmes) by including the grade conversion tool as part of the learning agreement. Student learning agreements, which explain credit transfer rules before the mobility takes place, will be signed by the student, home, and host universities (including Target Group 2 students). This will be facilitated in collaboration with the highest authorities of the registrar’s office from partners and by involving the national/regional qualification authorities. The consortium will develop standard processes of curriculum compression checklists among programmes of the partners. Bilateral/multilateral agreements between/among partners will include credit transfer agreements to recognize credit-seeking mobility and procedures for follow-up on recognition after mobility. The sample of the learning agreement and transcript of records are available on the Downloads page.
